He also added it is an honor for SM’s lifestyle group to contribute to the efforts of the Philippine South East Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) in hosting the prestigious event in the country.

What games can spectators expect at the Mall of Asia?
5-on-5 Basketball. The MOA Arena was announced as the final venue for one of the most-awaited sporting events lined up in the SEA Games roster. The Arena is well equipped for the needs of athletes and the huge crowd of people expected to be part of the excitement that most popular sport in the Philippines always brings.
The games are scheduled from December 4 to 10. Basketball-crazy Pinoys will definitely enjoy cheering for the Philippine Team who will defend their championship title in the Men’s Division.
Ice Sports. SM Skating is the official venue for all ice sports:
- Ice Hockey at the Mall of Asia on December 1 to 8
- Figure Skating at SM Megamall on November 29 to December 1
- Short Track at SM Megamall on December 3 and 4
SM’s ice skating rinks have been the preferred destination to enjoy chilly adventures here in warm and sunny Philippines. Despite being a tropical country, the Philippines has been victorious in ice sports over the years, with athletes garnering medals and accolades in competitions around the world.
The Philippine Ice Hockey Team are the defending champions of the region, finishing with the gold in the 2017 SEA Games in Kulala Lumpur.
Fourth for the Philippines
The last time the SEA Games was held in the country was in 2005. The other times were in 1981 and 1991, all centralized in Manila. This 30th edition will see the sports spread out to more venues including Metro Manila, Clark, and Subic/ Olongapo. This year is also notable for having the highest number or sports in the history of the games: 56 in total. With over 10,000 athletes from all over South East Asia participating, the 30th SEA Games has been touted as one of the biggest events in the region this year.
